Hey friends, and welcome back to a new chapter at & Chai!

Autumn is our favourite season for many reasons. We’re always SO excited for summer to wind down because it means we get to share new scents with you again! (C’mon, were any of us burning candles during those heatwaves? We were mostly conducting emergency non-melt work in the studio!)

Since we launched our first sell-out collection in 2020, we’ve evolved a lot. It’s pretty crazy to reflect on those first six Animal Crossing-inspired candles and where we are now. We collaborated with some of our favourite creators (Coffee + Scribbles, The Winnie Project, and Be Messy Be Magic), we developed a core range, then a series inspired by our favourite childhood snacks… And you’ve been with us every step of the way!

Five years in, we’ve learned a lot. We figured out what we love, what you love, and what makes us us. Which is why we’re excited to share a couple of things with you.

First up, we’re introducing our new Tin Heritage Series next weekend. Five candles, encased in tin vessels, that are inspired by our Malaysian-Chinese roots. The candles are bigger than our OGs and each is inspired by a different moment in our family life. You’ll be able to learn more about the fragrances below.

Second, we’re very sadly retiring our original Animal Crossing Collection. We know this is sad news, but the most-loved scents will reappear in new formats across our new ranges. (For instance, K.K. Slider becomes Off Grid in our new collection!) While we still love Animal Crossing and play it every day, this feels like a natural next step as we grow our small biz.

So! A little more about the Tin Heritage Series! This series is a manifestation of our Malaysian-Chinese heritage. Tin mining was the bedrock of Ipoh, our father’s hometown, and our new big-boy metal vessels reflect that. Not only are the candles bigger, the labels were hand-illustrated by Louise. The vessels are even more sustainable than our OGs – they can be infinitely recycled and use less energy to recycle. They also help to provide a more even burn, meaning you’ll get even more hours of our original scents.

Crisp and clean notes of zesty bergamot, warming oolong tea, Chantilly cream and fresh cucumber.

Comforting gourmand notes of steamed rice, white musk, soothing olibanum oil and sweet pandan leaf.

Spill The Tea Soy Candle

Fresh and nutty gourmand notes of fragrant jasmine, roasted hazelnut, woody dammar resin and a touch of tonka bean.
